Rachelle from Mess Around West Suffolk joined the messy team in 2019 and hasn’t looked back, particularly after winning the ‘Newcomer of the Year’ award at our Mess Around 2019 Annual Conference.
We asked her about ‘What’s her why?’. Have a read below to discover why she joined the Mess Around gang.
Why did you want to start your own business?
I had been a teacher for over 20 years and was so disillusioned by all the changes. It was no longer about teaching the children, there was an unrealistic amount of paperwork and hoops to jump through which just didn’t fit with my ethos. I was spending more and more time away from my daughters and missing so much of their childhood that we decided something had to change. It took me two years from first seeing and enquiring about the Mess Around Franchise to actually take the plunge but I wouldn’t swap it for the world! There is still a lot of work to do but I am more able to fit it around my children
What motivates you to do what you do?
I love meeting all my customers, I love seeing the delight on both adult’s and children’s faces when they see the different messy trays. I love being able to spend time with my family without feeling guilty.
Why would you recommend a MA franchise?
The support you get is second to none – I have had support with all aspects of actually setting up, marketing, next steps, growing the business. It’s like a family. The group that is set up for us all to chat one makes it feel like I have known the other Franchisees for ages, I’ve actually only met them all once in September for the conference but that’s not how it feels. It really feels like a family and one I can turn to for support and guidance. It’s hard work I won’t lie but it’s rewarding. Just seeing the smiles on faces, hearing all the positive comments and of course, being able to get stuck into the mess too!
