Do you have Shaving Foam and Cornflour in your cupboard….Then lets make some Foam Dough together.
My eldest has always hated touching shaving foam so when I suggested we make this his initial reaction was no way! But with the promise of not having to touch it with his hands he got on board and we set about making something new and messy.
Here’s how we did it…
You need only three ingredients
- Shaving Foam
- Cornflour
- Food Colouring
In a large bowl we added around 2 cups of shaving foam and a squeeze of gel food colouring for the boys to start stirring in.
We then added around 2 cups of cornflour and mixed this together until the mixture started to to form into a dough. I found that once it started to come together I found it easier to use my hands to form it all together into a ball of dough.
Once made it was time to play.
This activity was great fun, not only could the boys do the mixing and have fun with the making part, the options, like with play dough are pretty endless. We used some animals but any toys, cutters or rollers could be used.
There are many benefits to Foam Dough including;
- Fine motor skill development & strengthening of hand muscles.
- Encourages creativity & imagination.
- Assists with the growth of hand eye coordination.
- Promotes play.
