About
Hi, my name’s Gemma and I am so excited to be the owner of Slime Lab Sutton Coldfield.
I’m a mum to teenager, Yasmine; six year old Jake and toddler Amelie as well as having a cat, lots of fish and my partner in crime, Simon!
I’ve always had a passion for working with children from a young age when I used to help my mum prep resources for her play group when I was a child. I then progressed to teaching in various schools around the area and ‘fell in’ to working within nursery. I particularly love working with early years and developed this passion during the last 10 years while working as Deputy Manager within a day nursery.
It’s my philosophy that children learn and develop through play. It’s amazing to see them develop confidence and learn new skills and vocabulary by engaging in activities they may not have experienced before. I also love getting parents involved too!
During my maternity leave, I decided that I wanted a new challenge where I could be my own boss but use my creative skills while still working with children and their families – Mess Around has given me the perfect opportunity to do so!
I really look forward to seeing you all at a session nearby soon – I’ll provide the activities, you just get stuck in, getting as messy as you can and I’ll clean up afterwards!
